Ghana's Solomon Asante scored a brace as his club, Phoenix Rising beat Austin Bold 6-0 in the Major League Soccer (MLS) on Friday.

This has send his personal tally to 14 goals in the season making him the highest scorer of the American league this season and to put his team at par with FC Cincinnati as having the highest straight run wins in the season with 10 consecutive victories.

Skipper of Rising, Asante shot his side in front after guiding his effort safely into the far corner past Bold's goalkeeper, Diego Restrepo.

James Musa doubled the lead for the Phoenix Rising after the interval before Asante scored his second on the day and 14th goal of the season.

The former Berekum Chelsea star could have hit a hat trick but his effort was tipped onto the path of teammate, Adam Jahn who tucked it home.

Ahead of the game the diminutive Ghana international had predicted victory for his side stating that they had invested so much at training just to avenge the defeat they suffered in the hands of Cincinnati during their previous encounter.

Besides, he was motivating by the pursuit for the slice of history in the MLS to beat Austin Bold to equal the 10 straight wins of Cincinnati and to surpass it in their subsequent fixtures
