Ghana's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a surprise visit to the national team at training in Addis Ababa on Saturday afternoon ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia on Sunday.

President Akufo-Addo, who is in the Ethiopian capital to attend an African Union meeting, took time off his busy schedule to visit the Black Stars and give them words of encouragement to win Sunday's match. He interacted with the players, including the captain Asamoah Gyan and his deputy Andre Ayew, as well as the team's technical handlers led by head coach Kwasi Appiah

Ghana are third behind Kenya and Ethiopia on the Group F standings but have played two games less after the cancellation of a two-leg qualifiers against Sierra Leone following the suspension by FIFA in October of the Sierra Leone FA.
