2019 Africa Games: Ghana lose to Rwanda in beach volleyball

Ghana’s beach volleyball team lost 2-0 (21-15, 21-13) to their Rwandan counterparts in the quarter-finals of the beach volleyball contest at the Sale Beach Arena on Tuesday.

According to reports, the highly-motivated Rwandan team proved too strong for the Ghanaians as they (Rwandans) recorded the resounding victory to book a ticket to the semis.

Team Ghana earlier made it to the quarter-finals after recording a 2-0 (21-10, 21-12) and 2-0 (21-10, 21-13) victories over Sudan and Sierra Leone respectively in the opening matches.

In the other quarter-final games, South Africa won 2-0 against Nigeria, hosts Morocco defeated Angola 2-0 while Gambia claimed a 2-0 victory over Mozambique.

The semi-final pairings are between Morocco and South Africa and Rwanda versus Gambia.
