The CEO of Divine Travel and Tours Limited, Jason Onyameh, has presented a brand new table tennis board to the Asoba Foundation to support the training and development of the next generation of table tennis stars in the country.

Onyameh, who won the Club Chairman of the Year 2018 award at the just-ended Stanbic Bank National league season, promised to continue supporting the foundation.

“I’m happy to support these wonderful children who are a delight to watch. It is my hope that they will continue to work hard and be more disciplined," he said.

Receiving the gift on behalf of the Asoba Foundation, Coach of the Year 2018 and CEO of Not for Profit Sports, Nathaniel Kwesi Somuah, thanked Mr Onyameh for his continuous support for table tennis and for regularly supporting the table tennis fraternity.

"Jason continues to be a pillar of support for table tennis. Aside this donation, he offers discounted flight tickets to players on international assignments and also does free consultation. We will continue to cherish him. He is the Greater Accra Table Tennis Association president and he is doing extremely well. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for his kind gesture,” he stated.

“Ghana will be hosting the 2019 Africa and World Junior and Cadet Championships in April, and it is our hope that some of our children from the foundation will qualify to represent Ghana.”

Currently, the Asoba Foundation has secured a piece of land around Ofankor in Accra for the construction of a training centre for the children.

The foundation appealed to the government, private companies and individuals to provide the necessary support to help complete the building by the second quarter of the year.
