Ghana international Fatawu Safiu has been handed a new permanent contract by Swedish side Trelleborgs, following a successful loan spell, Ghana Guardian revealed.

The Ghana Guardian revealed that the new deal will rake in additional $110,000 to Kumasi Asante Kotoko to add up to the initial $35,000 they received for the 4 months loan.

Safiu joined the second-tier outfit on a four-month loan spell from Asante Kotoko after he had inspired the latter to  the group stages of the 2018/19 CAF Confederations Cup.

The 25-year-old scored five goals from nine matches played since joining Trelleborgs back in August 2019.
