Ghana’s centre-back, Daniel Amartey, could be on his way out of Leicester City as Sheffield United are reportedly lining up a move for the player.

The newly-promoted English Premier League side are said to be interested in the defender who is returning to the pitch for the first time in eight months after he sustained an injury during their 1-1 drawn game with West Ham United last October.

Reports indicate that Blades manager, Christ Wilder has turn his attention to the Ghana as he looks for a defensive-minded midfielder who can also operate at the back.

The 24-year-old who missed Ghana’s botched Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt due to injury is said to fit into the Blades boss’ style of play and they would be interested in his signature.

If the deal is completed, Amartey who can also play at right-back will join Jordan Ayew as the only Ghanaian players to have been transferred from one Premiership to another during the transfer window this season.

Since joining Leicester in 2016, the Ghana international, has struggled for game and this would be an opportunity for him to leave the King Power Stadium in search of regular first-team football this summer.

Amartey who signed a five-year deal with the Foxes is still under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2022.

Before joining the Foxes, Amartey’s career started with Swedish side Djurgardens IF, before moving to join FC Kobenhaven, where he won two Danish Cups and the league title during an excellent two year spell.
