Aduana, Karela, Sharks out of NC FA Cup

The Normalisation Committee Tier 2 competition recorded some surprises typical of FA Cup matches on Wednesday with premiership sides, Aduana Stars, Karela United and Elmina Sharks ending up as the main casualties.

At Dormaa-Akenkro, Aduana Stars had the shock of their lives when Division One side, Berekum Arsenals, booted them out on penalties after forcing a 2-2 draw in their regional derby.

In a similar vein, Karela United were held to a pulsating 1-1 at their favourite Aiyinase CAM Park by their neighbours, Nzema Kotoko, only to lose on penalties.

Elmina Sharks were also devoured by visiting Division One Heart of Lions at their Nduom Stadium fortress following a 0-1 upset.

However, Ashantigold, Medeama, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak escaped narrowly to the next stage of the competition at the expense of their respective Division One opponents.
