Starbow hopeful laurels will translate into increased revenues

Domestic carrier, Starbow, is hopeful its double achievements in September this year will help enhance its corporate image and subsequently lead to increased patronage for its services by the travelling public.

The two achievements are the successful completion of safety audits on its operations by the global air transport regulator, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which led to the issuance of an Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate late last month.

That certificate added to the Domestic Airline of the Year award, which Starbow won from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), at its 2014 marketing awards held on September 21.

Commenting on the two achievements, Starbow's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Eric James Antwi, told the GRAPHIC BUSINESS that his outfit was confident that the two honours would translate into increased patronage for its services.

The increased patronage is then expected to translate into higher revenues for the airline, which is operated by Aero Surveys Limited.

He added that the airline would also strive to maintain its status as one of the safest domestic carriers in the world and a flyer of choice for the Ghanaian traveller.

The issuance of the IOSA certificate by the IATA showed that Starbow operated in line with international safety requirements.

The certificate will expire within two and half years within which the airline would be expected to pass another round of safety audits before it could be renewed.
Starbow's CEO said the honours were a reflection of the company's hard work and commitment to safety standards.

Mr Antwi said in an interview: "These are achievements that we strived to get and the hope is that they will give us more business and enhance our image such that more institutions will prefer to fly with us."

Going forward, Mr Antwi said the airline would work to maintain and even improve on its standards and further called on the general public and the business community to partner it in that regard.

He said the airline would also be introducing new products and services, which would ultimately benefit the travelling public.
