GCB Ladies Club celebrates IWD in style
Members of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Ladies Club in all parts of the country dressed in their respective native wear to the office on Friday to mark International Women’s Day, which was observed on March 8.

Dressed in colourful 'kaba and slit' with matching scarf popularly referred to as "eda so bowo" with accompanying beads, the ladies (especially those at the counter) made customers feel at home.
They served customers with their usual adroitness. Two customers who spoke to the Daily Graphic said, "Today I feel more welcome at the banking hall" while the other said, "I always feel intimidated when I enter any banking hall but today their dressing is more welcoming.”
Speaking to the Branch Manager of the Republic House GCB, Mr Samuel Okyere, he said he was impressed with the decision of the ladies club of the GCB to wear their traditional wear to the office.
He said the decision, which was a directive from the President of the GCB Ladies Club, Naa K. Warley Nasser, called on all of its members to dress according to where they hailed from.
The directive said, "In solidarity with the celebration of the International Women’s Day 2014, to be held on March 8, the association has sought permission from management for all female staff to wear their various traditional wear to mark the celebration."
It said, "Every female staff would put on her traditional wear to signify the various backgrounds from where we each come from."
It further stated that: "GCB Ladies would therefore wear 'slit and kaba' or any traditional wear to work on Friday, March 8, to work and offer exceptional services to customers."
The association also presented cash and other gifts to some institutions and homes including the Witches Camp in the Northern Region.
