The game, which is known as Life Development Model, is based on educational game boards with seeds called Hopscotch, traditionally known as ‘Tuunimatu’ in Ga, and ‘Ata Ne Entaa’, in Twi.

The board game is for children between the ages of four and 18 and is played by one person at a time.

The player has to stand on the start button of the board and throw the seed on the beginning cell and hop on the other cells on the board to pick the seed.

According to the distributors of the game, Stritech - Hopscotch, the game would enhance a child’s learning by making it interactive, practical and fun.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stritech Hopscotch, Mr Richard Owusu Mensah, said the game boards had been examined using knowledge and skills from six subjects’ areas such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Physical Education.

Mr Owusu said for now, they were introducing the game to schools in the Greater Accra Region and demonstrating how it was played.

He stated that “when the school-children become conversant with the game, we would organise an inter-schools competition for them.”

Speaking at the event, the Regional Manager of Stanbic Bank, Mr Malike Nyamador, advised children to adopt the habit of saving to enable them to be prepared for the future.
