Turkish businessmen explore opportunities in Ghana

Mr Ozkan in a discussion with Haruna Iddrisu (R) during the visit to GhanaA five-member Turkish business delegation which was in Ghana to explore investment opportunities has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Haruna Iddrisu in Accra.

The delegation also toured the Ghana Free zones area in Tema to explore opportunities in the construction, real estate, fertilizer production and manufacture of tomato paste and spaghetti sectors.

The leader of the delegation, Mr Suha Ozkan, who lauded Ghana’s political climate said they were determined to scale up trade between Ghana and Turkey.

Mr Ozkan, who is also spearheading the establishment of a Ghana Trade Centre in Turkey, briefed the Trade and Industry Minister on the progress of the project.

He called for assistance to scale up market sustenance for Ghana’s non-traditional export to Turkey.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu asked the delegation to submit a written proposal so as to enable government know their areas of interests to be able to facilitate the needed action.

He said government would not shy away from build, operate and transfer (BOT) type of business relations in the productive sectors of the economy.

Earlier, the delegation also visited the offices of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA)
