Edem preps fans for Edemfest 2023

It was one of the biggest music shows in the Volta Region until 2020 when the ban on social gatherings due to COVID-19 ended Edemfest’s years of serving patrons with good music and performances from favourite artistes of the region.

But with social events and activities bouncing back, rapper Edem has announced the return of his headline show last held in 2019.

Edemfest has in the past years given him the platform to serve his home region with his abilities.

Though the year 2022 is yet to take its final breath, the Nyedzilor hit-maker has already taken a peep into 2023 and assured patrons of an enthralling encounter.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, Edem mentioned the festival had been a useful means for music enthusiasts in Ghana and beyond to appreciate the craft of artistes from the Volta Region.

He noted while he enjoyed the good feeling of massive home support at Edemfest, many up and coming artistes have equally used the show to promote themselves and works too.

“Well, the announcement of the return of Edemfest next year may be seen as early but we want to prepare our fans to put it on their calendar. Besides, this time around, it won’t be free admission but a paid show so we also need to inform them of the changes ahead of time.

“Paying for events is the future of the events ecosystem which is why Edemfest will encourage all fans to pay something to secure the future of such an event in the region. I ask my fans and the region to continually support the festival by paying to attend in their numbers,” he stated.

A press statement from Edem’s management last month explained that next year’s Edemfest will not be limited to a day but will be extended with many activities geared at providing revellers good fun.

“Preparations and planning have already begun ahead of the festival to be held in the coastal town of Keta, filled with its nice sandy beaches and rich history. The recently held Hogbetsotso festival is a demonstration of how the region is open to receive the world and share its rich culture,” the statement noted.

The date and exact venue of the 2023 show is yet to be communicated but Edem disclosed that his team will embark on a series of activities that would lead to one of the finest festivals to be held in Ghana.
