The festival

The festival, which began on July 15 and will end on August 5, 2021, is aimed at promoting the study of STEM in schools, educating Ghanaians on the various careers in STEM, as well as giving the Ghanaian youth the opportunity to explore and showcase their innovative ideas.

The initiative constitutes the Mentorship Sessions and the Sci-Tech Fair, which were previously satellite events on the NSMQ.

The festival will be climaxed by the Sci-Tech Fair which will come off on July 29 and 30, 2021 at the Academic City University College in Accra.

The fair will be in two segments; an exhibition and the sci-tech innovation challenge which will be among 10 senior high schools.

The university believes that the STEM Festival provides the suitable platform to encourage and impact the young Ghanaian with relevant knowledge and experience on ways to leverage the opportunities of STEM for Ghana’s economic development.

On the collaboration, the Associate Dean of Engineering, Academic City, Dr Lucy Agyepong, remarked, “We at Academic City are excited to partner with Primetime to deliver this innovative initiative to expose students and the general public to the opportunities of STEM education.
