Becca has been the main performer at Girl Talk since 2011

Which girl ‘talks’ at 2015 Girl Talk?

It has been a prominent, well-loved feature on the entertainment calendar on the nation’s capital since 2011 and Girl Talk, organised by the EKB Group, will be on again this year.

Last year, the show was extended from a day’s affair into a three-day programme that culminated in a Becca-led concert at the National Theatre. She explained at the show that Girl Talk was a platform created for women in general and not just for one particular person.

As December approaches for another edition of Girl Talk, there is already speculation about whether Becca’s comment meant she might not be the main performer this year as had been the case from the start of the series.

The Girl Talk concert targets an all-female audience with performances and pep-talk on a variety of issues by prominent females in the society. Appearances by various artistes are intertwined into the act of the lead performer.

People who have featured alongside Becca from the inception of the show include Funny Face, John Dumelo, Majid Michel, KOD, Kwabena Kwabena, Trigmatic, Ama Abebrese, Prince David Osei, D-Black, Sonny Badu and MI from Nigeria.

As the speculation over who would be the lead performer for 2015 gathers momentum, several names keep popping up. They include Raquel, Yaa Yaa, Irene Logan, Nana Yaa, MzVee and Ofie. Nigerian stars, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage have also been mentioned.

A spokesperson for the EKB Group would not state his company’s position on the speculation but said they were preparing for the 2015 show.

“The EKB Group is the Girl Talk brand owner and we are happy with how previous editions have panned out. We hope the upcoming one would be the best so far,” the spokesperson told The Mirror.
