Kofi Ansah

Fashion icon to be celebrated

A night of fashion and  music in  appreciation of  the  life and work of late fashion icon,  Kofi Ansah, will be held tonight, October 30, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

Kofi Ansah passed away on May 3, 2014  after a short illness. He was 62.

Tonight’s event which kicks off at 6.30 p.m and is being coordinated by designer, Karim Issaka, will feature an array of his designs, including items from his evocative Kente and Bogolon (mud cloth) collections.

Kofi Ansah was widely seen as a man who helped change the face of fashion in Ghana.

He was the principal designer at the ArtDress Fashion House and a founder member as well as a past president of the Federation of African Designers.

His iconic garments are identified by small bronze heads that hang on the back as well as on the front pocket hooks of his shirts and other prominent places on his couture dresses
