The artistes on parade will present their own interpretations of the reggae legend’s material such as No Woman No Cry, Redemption Song, One Love, Could You Be Loved, Get Up, Stand Up, Stir It Up and War.
The Live Reggae Covers programme was initiated by Deluge Entertainment to, as Knii Lante puts it, “promote reggae and rebrand it.” Musicians whose music have been already handled include Michael Jackson, Osibisa and Rihanna.
Artistes slated to do their own Marley renditions on the night, apart from Knii Lante, include Mawuli Nupkese of Roots Anabo fame, Oga Chucks, AJLyricx, Faffa, Ras Boomba and Prince Midas. A surprise artiste is expected to pass through.
‘The Live Reggae Covers bashes have all gone extremely well so far, and we are all looking forward to another great night of reggae ,” Knii Lante said.
The Big Hills Band, obviously the act with the tightest reggae grooves in the nation, will back all the artistes at the show.
