Al Hilal to renew bid for Ekuban

Saudi Arabia Premier League leaders, Al Hilal, will make a second bid for Ghanaian striker, Caleb Ansah Ekuban, next month after the first one was turned down by Trabzonspor.

The Riyadh-based club are in the market looking for an attacker to beef up their squad for next season's Asian Champions League and manager Razvan Lucescu has settled on the Ghanaian forward.

Al Hilal made an offer of 8 million Euros last month for Ekuban but it was rejected as it was below the expectations of Trabzonspor.

According to Turkish tabloid Miliyet, Al Hilal are planning to make an improved bid of 10 million Euros for the Ghanaian striker when the transfer window opens next month as they desperately need him to partner former Juventus star, Sebastien Giovinco, upfront.

Ekuban has spent several months in the treatment room at Trabzonspor this season due to injuries but has been able to make a decent 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing six assists as the "Black Sea Storm" lead the Turkish Superliga.

Aside Al Hilal, Italian Serie A club, Lazio, as well as Scottish Premiership giants, Celtic and Rangers, have all expressed interest in signing the 26-year-old attacker in the upcoming transfer window.

Ekuban’s current contract with Trabzonspor expires on June 30, 2022, but he will be allowed to move if a good offer comes.
