Ghana School of Law's graduate donates books to schools
A graduate from the Ghana School of Law, Mr Patrick Kojo Yamoah, has donated 3000 exercise books to 11 basic and junior high schools in the Agona West Municipal Assembly in the Central Region.
Under the auspices of his charity organisation, Kojo Yamoah Foundation, Mr Yamoah, who is a native of Agona Abodom, donated the items with support from some of his mates from the Ghana School of Law.
Some of the beneficiary schools included Kwaman Catholic School, Bobikuma SDA School, Bobikuma Presbyterian School, Bobikuma AME Zion School, Bobikuma Methodist School, Abodom Catholic School, Abodom Methodist School, Abodom Anglican School, Abodom Presbyterian School, Kukurantumi DA School and Abigyakrom School.
Contribution to development
Presenting the exercise books, Mr Yamoah said the donation was his contribution to the development of the area.
He said he was once a teacher at the Abodom where he realised that most pupils did not have access to books, a situation which negatively affected their education.
“I was touched and decided to plead solicit help from friends to buy exercise books for our future leaders,” he said.
According to him, his charity organisation would continue to engage in activities that would promote the education and well-being of children in deprived communities.
“As an organisation, our aim is to be able to set up scholarship facility for needy but brilliant children. Occasionally, we would organise educational programmes such as reading workshop, mentorship sessions , among other to fully equipped them for the future,” he added.
