Diagnostic facility refurbishes Police Hospital ward
Sonotech Medical and Diagnostic Centre has handed over a newly refurbished female gynaecology ward to the Police Hospital in Accra.
The renovation cost the centre over GH¢70,000.The renovation works included fixing of wall tiles (two meters high), replacement of hand washing bowl and louvre blade windows to sliding and door, provision of window curtain blinds, changing of ceiling and provision of new ceiling fans.

The rest are provision of lights, electric sockets, air conditioners, bedside lockers, television, polishing of terrazzo floor, new beddings among others.

At a brief ceremony to hand over the facility to the hospital, the medical doctor at Sonotech, Dr Grace Buckman, said the donation was to contribute to the general healthcare of female patrons of the hospital and to help facilitate the job of nurses and doctors.
“Usually for private organisations, there is something called giving back to society. We are doing this to inspire an even stronger and more robust partnership that will promote our organisational goals,” she said.
She entreated the hospital staff to observe a high maintenance culture in order to ensure the facility stood the test of time.

A Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCOP), at the Police Hospital, Dr Marian Tetteh-Korboe, said although the hospital was built for police personnel and their descendants, currently, the general public formed about 80 per cent of clientele.
“The gesture is a very good one. It has come to brighten our little corner. We are very grateful to Sonotech. We will use this occasion to appeal for support from well-meaning individuals and organisations to also come to our aid to refurbish the medical or surgical ward.
The Head of Department, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Police Hospital, Dr Emmanuel Boamah-Mensah, extended his outmost appreciation to Sonotech for their enormous support.
“We need the help of private organisations to move the Police Hospital to a greater height,” he said.
