Graphic Business Tertiary Business Sense Challenge: University of Ghana is Southern Zone champion - 12 qualify to final

The University of Ghana retained its title as the Southern Zone champions in the  Tertiary Business Sense Challenge version 5.0 competition held at the University of Professional Studies campus in Accra, last Friday.

The trio of Caleb Okyere,  Peter Emeka Ike and Michael Mensah amassed 41 points to beat the team from Academic City University College of Enoch Banyerah, Eugene Asiedu-Dartey and David Amanor who got 35 points to place second.

Pentecost University's trio of Emmanuel Owusu, Gideon Osei and  Francis Baah came third with a score of 22 points.

The keenly contested quiz which climaxed a three week highly competitive three-zone competition held across the country saw students being challenged on subjects pertaining to their courses in school.

The quiz master Alhassan Trawule asked the students questions on business theories, business case of the day,  questions pertaining to the Graphic Business newspaper, calculations and riddles.

The three schools will be joined by Accra Technical University (ATU) and the Ghana Telecommunication university together with seven others in the middle and northern zones to vie in the national contest on a date yet to be announced.

They are the University of Cape Coast, University of Education Winneba and the Koforidua Technical University representing the middle zone.

The rest are  defending national champions, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,(KNUST), Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Christ Apostolic University College (CAUC) and the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies(SDD-UBIBS).

In all, 12 schools will face-off in the national competition.

The Director of Marketing, Graphic Communication Group Limited, Franklin Sowa, lauded the students for their display of high business intellect and acumen and charged them to put off their best in the grand final.
