The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League enters the fifth week this weekend with some dicey fixtures in both the Southern and Northern zones across the country.

In the Northern Zone, the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale will host a derby between Northern Ladies FC and city rivals Tamale Super Ladies in a top-of-the-table clash tomorrow.

Northern Ladies are currently second on the league log with six points while Super Ladies occupy the first position with eight points. The last encounter between the two sides ended goalless even though undefeated Super Ladies start as favourites.

At the Ohene Ameyaw Park, debutantes Fosu Royal Ladies will be at home to Kumasi Sports Academy, with the home side hoping to build on an impressive home record (they have picked four points out of six at Techiman).

Ashtown Ladies will lock horns with Pearlpia Ladies at the Bantama Astroturf Park in Kumasi, with the home side aiming for their first win this season. However, Pearlpia Ladies will be playing to keep their momentum after beating city rivals Northern Ladies last week.

Southern Zone

In the Southern Zone, Berry Ladies will welcome Cape Coast-based LadyStrikers to the Madina Astro Turf Park in Accra tomorrow with the hosts aiming to bounce back strongly after suffering a 1-3 defeat to Hasaacas Ladies.

At the Sekondi Gyandu Park, former champions, Hasaacas Ladies, aim to continue their perfect run as they host Army Ladies in a clash between two unbeaten sides in the competition, while Essiam Socrates and Soccer Intellectuals clash at Mankessim.

Bottom club Sea Lions face debutants Jonina Ladies at the Nduom Sports Complex in Elmina, while Faith Ladies will face Police Ladies at the McDan La Town Park.
