Acknowledging that the June 7 date with the Tunisians was a daunting task, the tireless midfielder was confident the club’s “never say die” mantra would be at work on the day and fire on the players to achieve one of the biggest upsets in continental football.

Yamoah told the Graphic Sports that the huge loss in the first leg in Tunis was not as a result of complete dominance by Esperance but rather due to the efficient manner in which they took the capitalised on scoring chances that fell their way.

“We lost the game in Tunisia alright but it was not because we did not play well; it was because Esperance took the chances that came their way,” said a disappointed Yamoah, who made a passionate plea with the Hearts fans not to despair but rather troop to the stadium in their numbers to support the team to victory.

The former Hasaacas player, who joined the Phobians this season, has worked his way into Coach Herbert Addo’s first team and become the heartbeat of the Hearts midfield.

He said with unity of purpose and determination, Hearts will qualify against the Tunisians on June 7,  adding that “anything is possible in football”.
