Seydel, 24, moved to the camp of the Lilies for a fee of 500,000 Euros after spending the second half of last season on loan at SSV Jahn Regensburg.

Darmstadt sports director, Carsten Wehlmann was pleased with the signing of the player as he is very optimistic he can play a key role in their quest for promotion next season.

"Aaron is an attacker who, despite his size, can be used not only in the central attacking role but also in different offensive positions. He has already gained a lot of experience in this league in Kiel and Regensburg and has proven his qualities. We are sure that he has not yet reached the end of his development and we are pleased that he now wants to take the next step in Darmstadt, " Wehlmann stated.

Seydel was born to a German father and a Ghanaian mother in the German City of Langen and has been capped by Germany up to the under-21 level though he is still eligible to play for Ghana.

Seydel stands at almost two metres tall and previously featured for Hostein Kiel.
