Accident claims four lives at Ekumfi Swedru
Four person have died in an accident involving a Metro Mass Transit bus and a splinter mini Benz bus at Ekumfi Swedru in the Central Region.

According to the Mfantsiman Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Ashong, the accident occurred around 8:00am Sunday .
It involved a Metro Mass bus with the registration number GE 3206-12 and a Splinter mini Benz bus with car number GS 3161-13 .
ASP Ashong said according to eye witnesses, the driver of the Metro Mass, who was travelling from Cape Coast to Accra, was sleeping thus veering off onto the path of the splinter, which was moving towards Mankessim.
He said there were two passengers in the splinter with the driver and his mate.
According to ASP Ashong, the driver of the splinter died on the spot with one other passenger.
He added that the mate and the other passenger, who sustained serious injuries, were rushed to the Saltpond Government Hospital for treatment, but were pronounced dead on arrival.
He said, however, that the driver of the Metro Mass bus who also sustained serious injuries was receiving medical care in the same hospital.
ASP Ashong said some of the passengers in the Metro Bus, who also sustained minor injuries, were also sent to the Saltpond Hospital for treatment, adding that the ages and names of the deceased are yet to be determined.
