Classes had started in earnest and students were busy studying when the Junior Graphic visited a number of schools in Accra.

The students were  seen observing all the COVID-19 protocols to protect themselves.

At the Kwashieman 1 Basic School, 97 out of the 100 students had reported . Each class had  25 students.

Students washed their hands before entering their classrooms wearing their nose masks and used sanitisers after visiting the washrooms.

One hundred and twenty students had reported at the  Kwashieman Anglican 1 JHS and only  two students were  absent.

The teachers ensured that students observed all safety protocols when using the washrooms and during their break.

The situation was no different at the Kwashieman Anglican 2 JHS as all 60 students had reported with 25 in each class.

All the classes had a thermometer gun to check the temperature of students before they entered the class in the morning and after they used the washroom.

The school’s cleaner was positioned right in front of the washroom to ensure the students observed social distancing and washed their hands thoroughly after using the place.

The Headmistress of the Regand International  School at Dansoman, Mrs Queenstar Commey, said all the 12 students had reported and were in the boarding house.

She said  lessons had been extended to seven hours with 30 minutes break instead of four hours with 15 minutes break.

Mrs Commey said this was because they had not completed the syllabus and expressed the hope to do so before they wrote the exams at the end of the 11 weeks.

The Principal of the Orisco Preparatory School at Dansoman , Mr Ernest Johnson said his students had not completed the syllabus and the four hours lessons daily was not helping.
