Vodafone Cash Agrofie flows with the times

That’s why the Vodafone Cash Agrofie magazine entertainment programme is coming back after nearly a year off our television screens, in a virtual format that the producers believe viewers would find as exciting as the previous episodes.

The programme seeks to impart discerning information on cultural practices, social behaviour and development attitudes to viewers in an entertaining way.

Participants usually win a variety of prizes.

According to Osmo Kwame Addo whose Katamadara Concepts company produces Vodafone Cash Agrofie, they have to flow with the times.

Due to social distancing, stay-at-home orders and other protocols in vogue due to COVID-19, competitors will now take part in the programme from their homes instead of them facing the host in one location.

“We had to come up with an effective way of producing the programme while minimising the risk of spreading the virus to those involved with the production. We needed to bring on enhanced safety protocols. Vodafone was very particular about that and the great thing is that Ghanaians everywhere in the world can now be part of the show by reaching us through Skype, Zoom or vMix.

“Whatever money prizes they win would be sent to them straight away through Vodafone Cash. The other wonderful aspect of the new approach is that sponsors and advertisers would be able to showcase their products and services to a worldwide audience at a go. There’s definitely more mileage for them,” the Katamadara Concepts boss said.

According to him, participants based abroad who win prizes other than cash only have to indicate addresses in Ghana where their prizes must be delivered and it would be efficiently done.

Places outside Ghana which has hosted Vodafone Cash Agrofie in the past include the United States of America, South Africa, Gabon, United Arab Emirates, Equatorial Guinea and Holland

Locally, the programme had accepted numerous invitations from outfits such as educational institutions, corporate bodies, traditional festivals, churches and town councils to record editions of the show.

Well-known actor, David Dontoh, hosts Vodafone Cash Agrofie.

He said he was excited to be back on the show since many of its fans had been enquiring when it was returning.

“People met me in town and asked why the show was off air. I assured them it would be back, recharged with new ideas. I’m glad we are ready to get on air again with several thrilling segments. We’ll have contestants from all over the globe this time around so it would be a sort of ‘greetings from abroad’ thing as well,” Dontoh stated.

He felt proud that the show helped expose many young musicians to the general public and said it would continue to do, especially in these times of little work for performing artistes

The Katamadara Concepts CEO said he was grateful to several people for helping to get the programme back on air, especially Patricia Obo-Nai, the CEO at Vodafone Ghana; Martison Obeng-Agyei, the Head of Vodafone Cash Ghana and Fred Adu Ntoso of the Vodafone Ghana
