From Methodist University to Run-way swag

Gone are the days when pursuing a career in modelling was disregarded due to the perception that it was for unintelligent people.

But that erroneous view about the profession has changed over the years owing to enlightenment and ostensibly the success stories of supermodels like Oluchi Onweagba Olandi, Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Kate Tachie Menson and Tyra Banks.

One young model who is gradually etching her name in the modelling fraternity in Ghana is Peninnah Akosua Takyi Yeboaa.

The level 300 student of Psychology at the Methodist University College Ghana (MUCG) has hit the run-way on major modelling platforms in the country for some time now and says her dream is to become a Developmental Psychologist/Counsellor  and a model.

According to the vicenarian, her foray into fashion/modelling began after she took part in their campus beauty pageant.

"I took part in Face Of Methodist University College Ghana in 2015, which I won. After the pageant, our groomer, Dionne Slash Gavin of DSG Model Ghana saw the talent in me and groomed me,” she noted.

As a model, she has strutted on run-ways at many fashion events including Vlisco fashion shows, Heels and Muscles, Fashion Runway Series, Novel Africa, Zelia Vanderpuije Fashion show.

The ebony black lady who’s also known as The Dark Horse, had this to say, "The journey hasn't been an easy one but God has been immensely good to me. I would like to use this platform to say a big thank you to God Almighty for how far He has brought me, my parents; Mr and Mrs Oppong, Dionne Slash Gavin of DSG Model Ghana, Chantelle Dapaah, Abrantie The Gentleman and Nii Ayitey Adjin."

Peninnah Akosua Takyi Yeboaa is currently the face and brand ambassador for Netseba House of Garment and School.
