HR practitioners undergo training
The Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana, has organised a two-day change management training.

The training is in line with the organisation’s goals of building the capacity of the nation’s human resource.
The workshop was on the topic: “Change Management- A key to Competitive and Sustainable Business.”
It was aimed at equipping participants with techniques to enhance the effectiveness of change initiatives in their individual organisations.
The workshop brought together 25 participants—senior executives, heads of departments and HR professionals from different organisations in the public and private sectors of the country.
The facilitator, Mr John Wilson, who is also the President of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP), revealed that 70 per cent of change projects failed because change was treated as an event and not a process that required planning, implementation and monitoring.
He introduced participants to the Change Acceleration Process (CAP) model of managing change, which he said was a superior change management methodology.
He explained that effective change was a function of both the change project and acceptance from the people it had an impact on.
