Devtraco obtains upgraded ISO certification
Leading real estate developer Devtraco Limited has been granted an ISO 9001:2015 certification for its consistency in meeting international quality standards in its operations.
The new certification, which is an upgrade of the company’s earlier ISO 9001:2008 certification, is in line with a strategic decision by management to improve the overall performance of the company and provide a sound basis for sustainable development initiatives.

The Manager, Administration & Corporate Affairs of the company, Mr Kenneth Ofori, in an interview on November 22 said, “It is a certification that helps us improve our quality management systems. It is renewed every seven years.
At the end of 2015, we had the 2008 version and that had to be upgraded. It is more or less like ‘an agreement or best practice that an organisation can apply voluntarily’.”
He added that the certification was upgraded based on compliance to strict requirements of the IS0 9001:2015 standard, after an audit of its processes by the Certification Unit Ghana of the Standards Authority (GSA).
“We have to make sure that we meet the requirements of our customers, regulatory bodies, as well as statutory bodies. We also take into consideration the requirements of interested parties like suppliers, shareholders, internal customers, including employees.
As an organisation, we have to be aware of the importance of these interested parties’ (changing) requirements and standards, and anticipate them in the features of our products and services.”

Mr Ofori said the upgraded certification was very positive for the company’s image as it showed that Devtraco complied with internationally recognised quality standards.
This is often a requirement for customers and suppliers to do business with us and helps us increase our customer satisfaction,” he said.
He also added that it would also help streamline the company’s business processes and continuously improve them.
“The certification shows that we provide products and services of consistent quality,” he said.

The Production Manager of Devtraco Limited, Mr Ephraim Awuku, also explained that the company continued to conduct its business with quality as the hallmark and this was visible in the quality of infrastructure provided in its residential apartments.
Mr Awuku, who is also the management representative for the ISO, said the company provided the best of infrastructure at its homes and the gated community.
