Nana Somuah Mireku Nyampong III, chief of Kwahu Asakraka and Acting Life Patron of Okwawu United, said it was high time the Kwahu family forged a united front behind the club to secure promotion to the premiership.

Okwawu have qualified for the Middle League in Zone 3 of the Division One League as they attempt to end their eight-year life in the so-called wilderness of local football.

Should the Soccer Mountaineers qualify for the premiership, they will be the only side from the Eastern Region to be participating in next year’s campaign.

The club’s acting Life Patron asked all Kwahus to “contribute in cash or in kind to support our great club, Okwawu United, as we play this year’s Middle League scheduled for June 1-10, 2013”.

“This assistance will help facilitate the club's journey to represent Eastern Region in the Premier League.”

Okwawu will play Danbort FC, Nania FC and Inter Allies in Zone 3 of the Middle League.
