Fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have made a passionate appeal to the management of the club to suspend the transfer of their ace midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjie, to T.P. Mazembe. Celebrating their first victory in this season’s Glo Premier League, following a 2-0 victory over Berekum Arsenal at the Baba Yara Stadium last week, the fans heaped praises on the player for his role towards the victory.
To the fans, it was the efforts of Nii Adjie and Ben Acheampong that inspired Kotoko to record the victory .
They said it was not by chance that Kotoko's first victory in the Glo Premier League match coincided with the first appearance of both players who played their first game for Kotoko this season .
They expressed their dissatisfaction with what seemed a wholesale transfer of Kotoko players after winning last season’s Premier League, which they argued had affected the performance of Kotoko
“There is no way the team can make any meaningful impact in its continental campaign, without Nii Adjie, they insisted.
One of the fans, Mr. Anthony Gyimah who spoke to Graphic Sports moments after the Kotoko-Arsenal game, expressed concern over the way Kotoko struggled to put the ball into the net in the ongoing league.
