The affected communities are Kasoa Obom, Executive, Lamptey Mills and Chapel Square.

According to them, the modus operandi of the robbers included breaking into homes at night and attacking residents with guns and machetes.

The situation, which has become rampant in the Kasoa township, has not only affected the daily lives of residents, but has also compelled some shop owners in the area to close early. Some residents have also relocated for their safety.

Narrating her ordeal, Ms Agnes Sarfoa, a resident of Chapel Square, said five robbers recently forcibly broke into her room, attacked her and made away with an undisclosed sum of money.

“Robbers attacked me recently and took away my car after they had wounded me,” another resident said.

Police

The Kasoa Police Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samuel Naa Musah, in an interview, said some suspected robbers were recently arrested in the area. However, when an identification parade was carried out, the victims could not identify any of the suspects, leading to their release. He, therefore, asked the people to co-operate with the police in their efforts to ensure safety in their communities.
