Pharmacists have been urged to interact more with their clients in the course of their duties.

This, according to Mrs Patricia Ziniel Owusu, a pharmacist, would help to build a synergy between them and their clients.

Mrs Owusu,  who is the Managing Director of the Rx Group, told the Daily Graphic that pharmacy was not only about dispensing and selling of medications but also thrived on direct human interaction.

Having practiced pharmacy in the United States of America for about 12 years, she said healthcare service providers including pharmacists did not exhibit any form of human connection.

“When the pharmacist shows this kind of connection, patients feel comfortable when they go to them,” she added.

She said the pharmacy profession was a noble one and for that matter, the practitioners should establish human connections in the discharge of their duties.

“I had a couple of personal experiences at pharmacies that left me desiring more human interaction when I was in the US,” she stated.

She said her company desired to change this attitude by rendering quality services in terms of customer service in pharmacy.
