It takes more than 90 minutes to travel on the 15-kilometre roads because of their poor states.

Patronise branches

Speaking on behalf of the Board Chairman, Mr Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, a Director of the bank, Mr Ernest Ampofo, during a tour of the project, appealed to the people in the community to patronise the bank and save at the headquarters and other branches spread in two districts and two municipalities in the region.

“We are appealing to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders and the people from the communities to buy more shares to enable our bank to meet the required stated capital set for the rural community banks which is GH¢1,000,000,” he said.

Mr Ahenkorah also appealed to customers to increase their shares since the bank was making a lot of progress under the current leadership and would be able to pay attractive dividend when the stated capital was met.

Social duty

“The cost on deposit mobilisation to rural and community banks is high in view of the operational areas of our banks.

“In spite of all these, we have a social duty to our communities, hence this is the second time the Kwaebibirem Rural Bank is reconstructing the Abodom to Abaam road.

“It is our hope that travelling on the reshaped road shall reduce time, save drivers’ frequent repairs and spare parts replacement, reduce daily breakdowns of vehicles on the road and more importantly reduce the hidden cost of bodily pains after travelling on this portion of the Asuom road,” he explained.
