ADB upgrades banking infrastructure to boost growth

The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has upgraded its information technology (IT) infrastructure aimed at making banking convenient for its customers while improving efficiency.

The upgrade is supported by leading cutting-edge technology which, the bank says, has excess capacity to deliver the very best banking experience to its customers.

“This technology has the capability that has immensely reduced the waiting and transaction times across all service channels,” ADB said in a release in Accra.

In addition, it said, the security architecture of the bank’s systems and applications had also been bolstered with world- class firewalls to provide the most secure banking experience to the customer.

“The user experience on the new platform is very friendly, less cumbersome and more efficient in performing transactions as compared to the former,” it said.

The new system has cut the several navigation menus and screens required to perform a single transaction, resulting in reduced turn-around and waiting times to increase customer satisfaction.

But the successful completion of the upgrade has seen the introduction of additional functionality to perform more advanced transactions. That included mobile and internet banking platforms that had become more responsive, supported by a more visually appealing user interface to deliver more flexibility, speed and value to the customer.

Best bank in three years

The release said since joining the bank last year, the Managing Director, Mr Daniel Asiedu, had led a new transformation agenda for the bank to become more customer-driven.

“Mr Asiedu’s vision is to make ADB the best bank in Ghana within the next three years and this he hopes to make possible through the use of modern technologies and tailor-made products. This upgrade is one of such key initiatives towards achieving that vision,” the statement said.

“Of course, customers are assured of their security as the platforms are also armed with a robust enterprise-grade security feature to further protect the customer from theft and fraud,” it said, adding that the upgrade of the bank’s core banking platforms would enhance the user-experience for customers using the bank’s mobile app, Visa Cards, Internet banking and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services.
