Maxwell Konadu admits settlement plans with Kotoko Circles Committee
Ex-Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu says he has reached a gentleman’s agreement with the club over the payment of entitlements due him following the termination of his contract by the club.
The coach, who was axed after a series of poor runs with the club five months ago, was owed some entitlements including sign on fee, a year’s salary and winning bonuses.

The coach petitioned the Ghana Football Association's Player Status Committee demanding his a severance package in the region of $100,000 in respect of his residual salary, sign-on fee of GH¢30,000 and GH¢2,000 in outstanding bonuses.
Subsequently, the Status Committee ordered Kotoko to pay their former coach $41,000 in residual salary and other amounts owed him.
However, Kotoko appealed against the decision, arguing that they owed their former coach only $13,500 as three months' accumulated salary because his contract of employment had no compensation clause. Instead, the club argued that the contract had only a 'Notice of Termination' clause in lieu of which three months' salary may be paid to the coach.

The impasse prompted Kotoko's supporters’ wing, National Circles Council to intervene on behalf of the club by mobilising resources to settle the case amicably with their former player and later head coach who guided Kotoko to win the 2013-14 Ghana Premier League title during his first stint with the club.
Confirming the settlement to the Daily Graphic Online on Wednesday, Coach Konadu said he no longer had issues with the club because of the gesture from the leadership of the supporters’ group.
"Amicably, yes there are no issues again because the leadership of the supporters came in to resolve the problem," Konadu said without specifying the settlement amount.
However, other media sources quoted the Kotoko supporters' chief, Christopher Damenya, saying the supporters will mobilise GH¢160,300 while club's management pays the remaining GH¢80,500.
Already, a part payment of GH¢120,000 has reportedly been paid to the coach by the supporters group with the remaining amount expected to be pain in two tranches over a two-month period.
