Limited voters registration June 7 - July 7
The Electoral Commission (EC) says it will begin the limited voters registration exercise on Monday, June 17 to Sunday, July 7, this year.
The new date follows the dismissal of a motion for interlocutory injunction seeking to restrain the commission from undertaking the scheduled exercise.

The new dates were contained in a statement signed by the Chairperson of the EC, Mrs Jean Mensa.
Background
The commission had earlier in May this year announced June 7 to Thursday, June 27 as the period to undertake its limited voters registration exercise.
However, the commission was forced to put it on hold following an injunction application filed at the Supreme Court to restrain the commission from proceeding with the exercise.
A Ghanaian based at Daboya in the Savannah Region, Umar Ayuba, wanted the apex court to stop the registration exercise pending the final determination of his suit challenging the constitutionality of the exercise.

But in its ruling on Tuesday, a seven-member panel of the court threw out the interlocutory application and deferred its reasons until the substantive case has been settled.
The ruling gave the EC the green light to go ahead and carry out the limited voters registration exercise.
EC instructions
The statement added that the registration exercise would take place at all district offices of the commission and designated electoral areas or centres throughout the country.
It said the exercise would begin at 7 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. each day, including weekends.
"Prospective applicants are, therefore, advised to go to any registration centre with any of the following documents as proof of eligibility: A valid driver’s licence, a Ghanaian passport, a National Identification (ID) card, an old non biometric voters ID card (This is for applicants who registered before the 2012 voters registration exercise)," the statement said.
It further asked applicants who did not have any of the above documents to go to the registration centres with two registered voters to serve as guarantors for the purpose of the registration.
About the exercise
The exercise is to offer Ghanaians who have attained 18 years since the last registration exercise, as well as those who for some reason have never had the chance, an opportunity to register.
It also forms part of the EC's preparations towards the conduct of the 2019 district level elections and the referendum on the election of metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
