CH foundation donates $100,000 to covid-19 private sector fund
The CH Foundation, an independent non-profit organisation, has presented a cheque for $100,000 to the Ghana COVID-19 Private Sector Fund at a ceremony in Accra.
Presenting the cheque to the Technical Committee of the Fund, the Group Chief Operations Officer of CH Foundation, Mrs Cynthia Darko Acquaye, said “our foundation is focused on transforming lives by supporting initiatives in health, education and poverty alleviation in our communities”.

Relevance of donation
She said at this critical point in the country’s history where the COVID-19 positive case numbers were rising along with the death toll, “this private sector initiative, which seeks to develop a hospital dedicated to the treatment of infectious diseases, is now even more relevant than before.
“As an indigenous Ghanaian company, we are proud to be associated with this right from the beginning, and feel that we should be here to give it a final push to reach its successful end.”
Mrs Acquaye said she “believes that this country would not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all”.
Ghana’s economy, she said, could only fully flourish when, among other things, health concerns had been addressed and effective remedies put in place to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
This, she said, was what the hospital project sought to address.
Gratitude
The Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Fund, Dr Justice Yankson, who is also the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, expressed gratitude to the CH Group for the gesture.
