GIZ-Make-IT in Africa and Innohub partner to launch Agritech Investment Readiness Accelerator Programme

Innohub, in partnership with the GIZ implemented Make-IT in Africa programme, is excited to announce the launch of the Agritech Investment Readiness Accelerator 2020 to support the scaling of the next generation Agritech ventures.

Small and Growing Business (SGBs) in Ghana face several obstacles in their efforts to grow their businesses.

Key among these obstacles is the lack of access to financing as well as an inability to pay for professional support services that prepare them to become investment ready.

Although funding is a critical anchor for business growth, SGBs in Ghana are highly marginalized and fail in their attempts to raise funding from all sources.

While several factors account for their inability to attract investment, unstructured business, undefined growth path, and unproven business models, happen to make them unattractive to investor networks.

Innohub in partnership with GIZ-Make-IT in Africa have developed a programme to address these gaps and prepare proven Startups for investments.

This Investment Readiness Accelerator Programme design is anchored on tried and tested investment-readiness programs which has been applied to larger businesses in successful capital raise projects.

Majority of SGBs cannot afford to pay for management consulting to become investment-ready. Hence, it is important that accelerator programmes like these come to the aid of SGBs.

The programme is designed to identify Agritech entrepreneurs and Startups offering innovations by combining digital solutions with proven business model to contribute to the economy and Sustainable Development Goals.

It will run for three months, combining virtual sessions, tailored one-on-one consulting sessions, group training, and peer review sessions, using best practices that will ensure optimum outcomes.
