Wiyaala in concert at +233

She is a young woman on the loose for global attention and the Wa-born singer-songwriter, Wiyaala, will demonstrate some of the elements that have made her such a hot property on the international circuit at a concert on Saturday, September 19,  at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill in Accra.

She will be backed at the 9.00pm show by her Djimba World Band. Wiyaala started catching attention here and outside the shores of Ghana two years ago when she split from the Black N Peach group.

Miss Galaxy Ghana calls for entries

A new beauty pageant, Miss Galaxy Ghana, which seeks to groom young ladies to champion the need for good environmental practices in the country, has called for auditions scheduled for the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

The maiden edition of the pageant, which has Too Sweet Annan of Trisha fame, Princess Shyngle, Jose Tolbert and Janice Gash, as judges, is also aimed at creating a platform for young ladies to exhibit not just their beauty but their understanding of good and bad environmental practices as well.

The Miss Ghana 2015 audition train pitched camp in Tamale on September 2 to select representatives of the three Northern regions.

Gabonese musician to perform at Alliance Française

Gabonese R&B star, J-Rio, will on Saturday, September 12, perform alongside other artistes at the Alliance Française in Accra.

The performance forms part of efforts by the Alliance Française to provide visibility to Francophone artistes in Ghana in order to ensure effective and long- lasting collaborations and joint performances with their Ghanaian counterparts.

Hosanna Praise ends well

The Adentan Metropolis was the place to be for lovers of gospel music when this year’s edition of Hosanna Praise concert, came off at the Adentan Community Park last Saturday.

By 3:00 pm, the audience who had almost filled the auditorium were in anticipation of a great show. And it was not surprising how patrons cheered on the first performance from Jesus Crew, a praise and worship group, at about 5:00pm when the event organised by Christ Care International Ministries kicked off.

Celestine to launch Turning Around album

Gospel songstress, Celestine Donkor, will launch her Turning Around album on Sunday, September 13, at the Ridma Hotel, McCarthy Hill Junction in Accra.

The 13-track album features top South African gospel singer, Many Jane, as well as well-known Ghanaian acts like Ceccy Twum, Becky Bonney and Joe Mettle. 

Nubuke to host Kweku Opoku’s artwork

Multi-talented man of the arts, Kweku Adu-Gyamfi Opoku, has heaved a sigh of relief after bowing to subtle pressure from friends and family to put some of his paintings and drawings on public display.

The man has been drawing and painting for over 30 years and has persistently pushed back displaying his works despite prodding from numerous angles, till now.

From September 12 2015 to October 3 2015, 52 acrylic paintings on canvas, 20 drawings and 20 digital prints by Opoku  will go on show from 10.00am  at the Nubuke Foundation in Accra.
