‘Ghana meets Naija’ again

Come Saturday, May 23, the friendly rivalry that has existed between West African neighbours, Ghana and Nigeria, will be reignited at the 2015 edition of the Tigo Ghana Meets Naija concert at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Over the past four editions of the concert, artistes such as Brymo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Castro, Wizkid, Davido, D'banj, 4x4, Shatta Wale, R2bees, and M.I among others, have represented their respective countries with strong performances in order to win the bragging rights for their nations.

This year’s edition, which is sponsored by telecommunication company, Tigo and under the theme, Unleashing Unlimited Music, is expected to feature some of the biggest names on the music scene at the moment from both Ghana and Nigeria.

In the camp of Ghana will be the trio of artistes dubbed, “The Triple Threat” made up of Sarkodie, dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, and the 2015 VGMA Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy.

Nigeria is expected to feature an equally strong contingent of artistes namely, the seven-member crew of Mavin Records, Nigerian based record label founded by award winning record producer, Don Jazzy.

Dubbed the 7-Man Army, the group consists of Don Jazzy himself, Reekado Banks, Dr SID, Korede Bello, Di'Ja, D' Prince and Tiwa Savage.

The group has had multiple hits songs such as Looku Looku, Dorobucci, Adaobi all of which have captured the hearts of music lovers in both Ghana and Nigeria and are poised to give the Ghanaian contingent a run of their money.

Ghana Meets Naija has always served as a competitive platform to promote collaborations between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes and this year’s edition will be no different.

This year’s event is also supported by UniBank, Hennessy, Flight Centre, Oak Plaza Hotel, Africa World Airlines, Best Western Hotel, Enovate and Euro Star limousines.
