Ghanaian actress Yvonne Okoro says she has no issue with people who invested their money with Menzgold because even though a lot of them believed that it was a scam, they took the risk to make money.
In an interview on Accra based Hitz FM, Yvonne Okoro told Andy Dosty that Ghanaians are hungry and will do anything to make money to survive.
“I do not have issues with people who invested in Menzgold, I don’t. Come on, people are hungry and if there is a way out for people to earn money, even a lot of people knew or believed that it was a scam, a lot of people believed that but they were willing to take the risk to go…”
According to her, Menzgold's package was attractive, which offers what a lot of people could not earn monthly, despite several warnings by Bank of Ghana.
“Bank of Ghana issued out a lot of circulars that 'don’t do it' and then you still did it because you know that every month you are making some money that probably your work can’t give you, you toil day and night and you are paid petty and Menzgold comes with (a) beautiful package, you will fall for it. it’s like when a guy comes and he’s all packaged nicely and he tells you the nice things, not that you are an idiot and can’t tell that he is lying but because you're willing to give it a try and see if it gets somewhere…” she said.

The actress again disclosed that she would have accepted a deal to be an ambassador for Menzgold, if managers of the company had approached her with a good deal. She would not have minded.
“If they had approached me and paid me well, I would have, because at that time, we all believed in it, some believed it was a scam and some did not, I mean if you could invest in it, why wouldn’t you collect some of the money they were sharing…” she revealed.
Yvonne however explained that, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1 has helped the showbiz industry and that she can’t name anybody who has helped the industry better, saying, “he did a lot for the industry, he was giving funds and stuff for people to do movies, to produce, that is what we were seeing around, if they ask me to name one person who has done so much for the industry, I don’t know anybody,” she stated.
Menzgold endorsed from a number of Ghana’s biggest entertainment personalities, appointing some ambassadors while others publicly declared their endorsement of the company.
Currently, a court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Menzgold's CEO, NAM1, who is accused of defrauding by false pretences and money laundering.
