Ages sings Beautiful for the ladies

A young promising Reggae and Afro pop artiste, Ages Africa, has released a new song, Beautiful, to appreciate women and their divine purposes in the lives of their male counterparts.

The Afrobeat song, which was released last month and features upcoming artiste, Spicer, reflects the many qualities of women.

The mid-tempo song, rendered in English, Twi and Ewe, entreats young ladies to wear smiles because “that makes them beautiful and brightens the day”.

While Ages sings about the nature of women on Beautiful, Spicer spices up the song with his version of rap where he extols the virtues of women and advises men to treat them special since they are the “world’s assets”.

He raps about how pampering one’s lady can be a tool to establishing and sustaining great relationships.

Last year, Ages released his World of Love album which had songs such as Colour of Love, African Smile, When Our Love Runs Low, Language of the Heart, Love in a Woman among others.

For him, the roots of reggae championed by Haile Sellasie, is for societal change, and that is what his protégés should work towards.

However, since he is versatile, he loves to produce songs from other genres to appeal to the “different tastes of music lovers”.

“Music is a respected discipline and I treat it as such. I’m committed to using music to reach and touch the hearts of many people in Africa,” he told Showbiz last Thursday.

A graduate of the Ghana Telecom University College, Ages Africa, real name, Awoonor W.G Selorm, is a descendant of the great Ghanaian poet, Kofi Awoonor.

Ages Africa, who is also a poet, said his music is greatly influenced by the traditional setting he found himself while growing up.

That, he said, impacted his way of life and the kind of music and poems he does as well. He said he is currently shooting the video of Beautiful and hope to release it soon.
