The items are 10 computers, two projectors and their projector screens, two scanners and two colour printers, which cost GH¢20,000.

According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the computers will be used to strengthen and modernise its research and data management directorate, which serves as the main information and publication unit of the ministry.

The presentation will be followed by capacity-building training for personnel who man the unit in GCNet data extraction and management software, known as Cognus Impromptu, which will assist the ministry to query and produce reliable international data.

Officials of GCNet told the Daily Graphic that the company, which was a public-private partnership online solutions provider for trade facilitation, presented the items because they were needed in the company’s operational area.

They expressed the hope that the equipment and the training would help the ministry to produce more data for public consumption and policy making.
