Be commited to Hearts — Nyaho tells players

A board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has charged the players of the club to remain committed to ensure the dented image of the club is restored.

He says he could not see the commitment of the players and that has resulted in their poor performance and which ultimately is preventing the fans from patronising their games.

Addressing the players at the club’s training grounds at Legon last Monday, he told them in the face that most of them  were too ordinary to attract the fans to the stadium.

He argued that throughout the history of the club, Hearts had always contributed a significant number of players to the various national teams with some moving on to captain the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Dr Nayho-Tamakloe regretted that the same could not be said of the current generation of Hearts players.

As the players listened to him with shock, Dr Nayho-Tamakloe singled out Mustapha Essuman, as the only player, who stood out during matches, insisting that none of them came near in terms of commitment..

“None of you here is outstanding and that is one of the reasons why the fans are not coming to the stadium because there is no quality player to watch,”  he declared.

It was clear from the demeanour of the players that they were not happy with the comments as they bowed their heads  down and only listened to him.

“We have a long generation of footballers who have even captained the Black Stars before and if you want to play for the club then you should advise yourself and learn to play,” he asserted.

Dr Nayho-Tamakloe challenged them to be committed and to give more than 100 per cent of their efforts to bring back the team to winning ways.

“If you are not committed you cannot play for Hearts  or any other club, I want to urge you to die for the club,” Dr Nayho-Tamakloe stressed
