A woman’s eyebrow says more about her than she knows herself. According to facial reading expert, Ms Jean Haner, eyebrows are signifiers of your self-confidence, assertiveness, logic, organisational abilities, and motivation and how you make decisions.

The eyes are the window to the soul. Such an important feature deserves to be framed. Shaped eyebrows do just that. They frame the eyes and draw attention to them.
Make a statement
Eyebrows can be used to create a look or make a statement. Changing the shape of the eyebrows can change the impression that someone gives. You may be seen as the cute girl next door, a serious career woman or a sophisticated diva just by how you shape your eyebrows.
Neatly groomed eyebrows can give you a fantastic look and flatter your face frame if you get the correct shape. If done well, it can give you the most defining look. A good shaped brow can actually take off many years from a woman’s face and give a much younger look.

Why women shape their eyebrows
According to Ms Agartha Sackey, a seamstress at Adabraka, she shapes her eyebrow every week because they do not grow evenly.
“I noticed that my eyebrow grows haphazardly so anytime I go to the salon to have my hair done, I ensure that my eyebrow is trimmed to make it look nicer.”
To Ms Naa Oye Quartey, a secretary in one of the banks at Adabraka, shaping her eyebrow makes her look more beautiful.
She uses an eyebrow pencil to project her eyebrow. Naa Oye says she prefers thicker eyebrows, but has thin ones so she always uses an eyebrow pencil to shape her brows.
Types of eyebrow shaping methods
Eyebrow threading is often used in raising brow arch, getting rid of unibrow, shaping eyebrows as well as helping in defining eyebrows.
Shaping the eyebrow with blade is the most common among women.
Tweezing the unwanted hair from the eyebrow is another way of shaping the eyebrow.
People with thin eyebrows also go in for permanent or semi-permanent tattooing of the eyebrow.
Eyebrow waxing is another form of shaping the eyebrow. Using waxing powder, warm wax and strip, the hair is ripped off quickly when hardened.
