Today, the Mokobe singer will join a host of other gospel acts such as Eugene Zuta to lead the people of Tema and its environs in a time of praise and worship at this year’s Hallelufesto which will come off at the Central Assemblies of God Church, Community Four, Tema.

Known for songs like Gye Wayeyi, Wana na and None Compares, Nii Okai regarded by many of his fans as a great worship leader is expected to bring on board that element when he leads a pack of “joyful worshippers to thank God for a successful new year”.

Hallelufesto has over the years seen many gospel artistes such as OJ, Daugthers of Glorious Jesus, Cwesi Oteng, Joe Mettle, Uncle Ato, Selina Boateng and Ohemaa Mercy minister on its platform.

According to the organisers, the selection of Nii Okai and Eugene Zuta was to satisfy the demands of their large youthful patrons who they appeal to.

Other support acts include Wonder the Poet, Jesu The Artist, Naa Deisa and host choirs, Treasured Possessions and Potter’s Clay.

Since its inception in 1994, Hallelufesto has served as a platform for evangelism and as a means to reach out to the youth through music, poetry, drama and choreography.

It was formed and initially patronised by the members of the Methodist Church but over the years, it has been patronised by members from other denominations.
