Fela Kuti had 100 concubines who were all living in his house – Son reveals
Seun Kuti, popular Nigerian Afrobeat musician and son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has revealed his late father, had over 100 concubines.

Kuti said people only knew of Fela’s 27 wives, but they didn’t know of his over 100 concubines who were living in his house.
He disclosed this on the latest episode of the ‘Bahd & Boujee’ Podcast co-hosted by reality star Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe.
“People only know of Fela’s 27 wives, they don’t know of his over 100 girlfriends that lived with us in the house,” he said.
Fela, who was highly revered as the pioneer of Afrobeats married 27 women on the same day in a bid to preserve their honour and dignity as the media was already tagging his female dancers and band members living with him as “prostitutes”.
Fela got married to 27 women in one day back in 1978 in what was seen as a very daring move at the time.
