Korblah gets Cal Bank support for Royal Birkdale tourney

A Ghanaian professional golfer, Amos Korblah, will have the opportunity to compete in the 146th Open Golf Championship to be played at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in the UK this year.

Korblah, who is a member of Achimota Golf Club, distinguished himself at the Senior British Open held in Scotland last year and made the cut to compete at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club slated for July 20 to 23, this year.

All his expenses during his participation in the tournament would be catered for by CAL Bank.

By this, Korblah adds to his achievements and a host of awards, including winner of the 3rd International Golf Open in Cameroun, winner of the 2013 Delta State Pro Golf Championship, winner of the 2016 Senegalese Federation of Golf Championship, 2012 Glo Golf Tour Pro Winner in Nigeria, winner of the 80th Ghana Golf Open Pro tournament and recently the Achimota Club Captain’s Prize Pro Tournament organised in February this year.

The Managing Director of CAL Bank, Frank Adu Jnr., who is also a golfer and former Captain of Achimota Golf Club, reaffirmed the bank’s continued support for lesser known sports in the country such as golf and beach soccer.

He encouraged Korblah to fly high the flag of Ghana when he participates in the competition and urged him to come back with laurels.
