The win was the first in a league match for the wonder club this season and minutes before the end of proceedings , the few supporters at the stadium burst into singing in solidarity with the club.

Olympics began the first half with their teeth set on edge and led an onslaught in search of the opener.

This strategy paid off in the third minute. A corner was floated in the Dwarfs box, the ball deflected off two defenders and created a melee before a lurking  Bernadinho chanced on it and  released a drive to the blind side of goalkeeper Michael Abu.

Taken aback by the goal, Dwarfs responded with an onslaught but they failed to connect the passes and were listless in front of goal.

Back from the break, the visitors continued their search for the  equaliser but when attacker Joseph Esso’s  had an opportunity against goalkeeper Abraham Odonkor in the box, his shot went wide.

Both teams made all three substitutions in the course of the game but substitutes Godwin Attram, Issaka Mohammed and Malik Tahiru for Olympics made little impact in the game just as  Musah Ibrahim and Isaac Donkor for the visitors.

Micheal Kpovie gave Tema Youth an early lead in the third minute but Benjamin Bature equalised for the Tarkwa based side in the 65th minute after he tapped the ball from  a long throw in effected by a substitute Amos Korankye.

• At Berekum, Emmanuel Adu-Gyamerah reports that a 22nd minute strike from Stephen Sarfo was enough to win the day against visiting Accra Hearts of Oak.
